Today, every media in Chile is talking about the 9.11, the military coup which happened 40 years ago today. But there is another important 40-years-ago event which influenced my life. And it is something I believe could contribute to the education.
Yes, Hip hop, yo.
Every country in the world has its own problem.
Then, let me narrow the focus to….like youth.
Some say that youth in Japan— the country where there is a serious problem of high rate of elderly people compared to other countries—lack of respect to the elders and that will affect the future of the country.
Honduras— the country where there is high rate of youth population (over 50% of the population consists of youth under the age of 24), a common feature in Central America— has problems of youth violence.
Things are always subject to change.
20 days have passed since I arrived in Santiago, Chile, and my life has changed more rapidly than I expected.
There was also a big change in one middle school in Toronto, Canada–the change that I really like about.
What do you picture from the word “Hip Hop”
When I introduce myself, I tend to do play with one experiment.
I: I teach dance at school.
Other: Oh, what kind of dance?
Answer 1: Ballet (Lie)
Answer 2: Hip Hop
It’s interesting that when I say “Ballet” they tend to believe that I am a elegant or sensitive guy whereas when telling Hip Hop, they se me as if I were a young, loose or even untidy person.
